At the climax of our journey through Matthew’s Gospel, everything comes down to one defining moment—the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In this powerful message from Matthew 28, we see that the resurrection is not just a miracle, but the ultimate proof that Jesus is the promised Messiah who fulfilled every word spoken by the prophets. The empty tomb declares victory over sin, death, and every power of darkness. What looked like defeat at the cross is revealed as total triumph.

But the story doesn’t end at the empty tomb.

The risen Jesus gathers His followers and declares that all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him—and then He sends them out. The Great Commission is not just a command, but a calling rooted in His victory and sustained by His presence.

This sermon invites us to see the resurrection with fresh eyes, confront doubt with truth, and step boldly into the mission Jesus has given us. Because He is risen, we are not only forgiven—we are sent, empowered, and never alone.

He is risen. And that changes everything.
